Annual day at Springdales school

New Delhi. Delhi has completed 100 years as the National Capital. To mark this historical milestone, Springdales, Dhaula Kuan, presented a ballet entitled ‘Immortal Delhi’ on the occasion of its annual day on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 5 pm, showcasing different eras of the city. The stages — Mughal, imperial and contemporary — narrated the different phases of evolution of the city. The ballet was a fusion of symphony, music and dance. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the chief guest and commended the melodious choir for its spellbinding medley. Dikshit also congratulated the school for the ballet theme, showcasing the historical city of Delhi. The guest of honour, Olga Chamero Trias, former Ambassador of Cuba, gave away the awards to meritorious students from the middle and senior schools for their excellence in academics and co-curricular activities. The evening culminated with a vote of thanks by Rajni Kumar, chairperson, Springdales Education Society.
